On Eating Shows

I love cooking shows. I love watching them. I could watch FoodTV all day. Literally. I have. At around Christmas time I was at home, and we have cable at home, and I watched FoodTV all day. I watched Emeril Live (which is like 2 hours) twice.

Now, I am one of the many people in the world that love to watch cooking but don’t know how to cook. I won’t say I’m a bad cook. I’m probably not. But I’m not naturally good at it. I’d have to sit down and learn about it, and I’d have to devote more time to actually cooking.

And frankly, I’ve got other things to do. Like watching cooking shows. And (and this is a big one) eating.

Now, I love eating, too. A big reason I watched FoodTV all day on the aforementioned Christmas was because I had eaten so much turkey and stuffing that moving about had been removed from my “To Do” list.

So I propose this: eating shows. Shows completely and totally devoted to the art of eating. I of course would have one of said shows. I’d pop a cheese cube in my mouth and say, “Bam!” I’d show you new ways to eat omelettes (the “Triangle Shaped” bites and the “Balled Up Whole Omelette In Your Mouth” methods among others). I’d do segments on how to choose the best eating equipment (“Stainless Steel Forks: The Real Story”).

Think of it! Do it! Now! Think of how wondiferous this would be! Am I wrong in thinking that this would revolutionize the entire entertainement industry as we know it?!?!

Or am I just hungry because I skipped breakfast?

Oh, the latter may be true, but the former cannot be proven false. Since none of you can predict the future. And that being the case, I am off! Off to perfect my craft! Off to refine my art! Off to eat a whole mess o’ cheese doodles!

Farewell!

Porter!
